Careers with IR - CART & Court Reporting

CART Writers Needed Immediately - Have you done classroom captioning work before? If so, IR would like to talk to you about immediate positions we have open now for remote CART writers.

IR currently provides over 250 hours of CART services each week and that number continues to grow. We are looking for experienced CART writers, or reporters who have at least two years of realtime experience, to take on remote CART classes during the weekdays. There may be some evening or weekend classes as well.

The main focus of this work is in the educational area. Our clients are university, college and high schools across North America.

Contact Duane O'Geil for more details and to discuss arranging a time to set up a session for testing.

Court Reporters - Independent Reporters is currently looking for court reporters for our Calgary and Edmonton offices.

Why choose Independent Reporters?

Variety of Work

Independent Reporters offers our reporters a diverse range of work, from general litigation servicess for the legal community, CART services in educational and corporate settings, and realtime reporting services for major trials, hearings, and litigation. Our reporters are exposed to many different types of work, and that keeps things interesting.

Ongoing Realtime Training

Reporters can also participate in upgrading their own skills through an ongoing training process. This training is geared towards each persons own skill level and allows our reporters to enhance both their skills and writing knowledge.

Technology Training

As technology changes, so do the tools our reporters use. Training is provided on both software and hardware so that our team members are comfortable in using new technologies to their benefit.
Also, complete hardware and software support is provided to our reporters. We believe that our reporters should focus on their skills and abilities in producing transcripts, not dealing with technology problems or support issues.

Who Should Apply?

If you're thinking about a future in court reporting, realtime reporting, CART services, or broadcast captioning, we should talk.

IR offers more future opportunities than any other court reporting firms in our area, and we're looking to add reporters who want to take on new challenges.

We would prefer reporters with at least two years of experience in the field and who want more out of their career.  This includes reporters who would eventually like to pursue a career as a remote CART provider or broadcast captionist. As a lot of work we do involves working with other reporters, being a team player is an important asset to us.

forward thinking reporting firm!
