Independent Reporters' involvement in charities in the community increases in 2008

Where we started
Starting in 2005 IR first supported the Calgary/Edmonton Humane Societies. Our donation to these societies is based on the number of online bookings our clients schedule our services. Each time a client uses our online booking form, IR makes a donation of $1.00 each time. We tally the total number of online bookings we receive at the end of the year, and then we provide a donation to these societies in that amount. In 2006 we donated $350. IR continues with our giving each year to these societies.
2007 we added another...
Our giving continued in 2007. IR added another worthwhile cause, WINHouse. WINHouse is a women's shelter. IR contributed $500 corporately. In addition to this financial contribution, staff and court reporters with our company provided other needed items for WINHouse. These items ranged from toothpaste to clothing, furniture, and kitchen items. You name it, they gathered it. When all the items were collected, they filled a minivan to the roof! IR will continue with a yearly financial contribution and also continue to encourage our staff and court reporters to keep the WINHouse in mind for other needed items.
Christmas 2007
As the Christmas holiday approached, staff and reporters with IR donated a food hamper to a less fortunate family of ten. Four large boxes containing everything from oranges to a large turkey was provided for a family of 10 so that they could enjoy their holiday, just as we do. \|
Continuing in 2008
The staff and court reporters with IR have added another cause to our agenda for 2008. The CIBC Run for the Cure will be our next challenge as a company. IR will host a corporate team to participate in this run in the fall of 2008. Throughout the year, IR will promote our involvement with the CIBC Run for the Cure and gather donations from friends, family, and clients. The firm will also provide donations on behalf of our clients again for each online booking a client schedules.
Why do this
IR feels a strong commitment to our community helps our staff and reporters to give a helping hand to those that cannot. We are fortunate to be able to help out where we can. Contact us today should you wish to help us with any of these charities.
